Why Radishes? Kids get distracted easily; they can be impatient. For kids looking for quick rewards, radishes are as close as they can come to instant gratification. Radishes are so fast-growing your children will be pulling the plants in as few as 21 days from sowing.

Start by planting the seeds in a garden or a pot. Water. Your child will see sprouts in a few days.

Don't like radishes? You probably know somebody who does like them. Have your child give a gift of a bunch of their own home-grown radishes to a relative or friend. Watch your proud child's smile grow.

This is one way a child can start to learn that they can make a difference in the world and in other people's lives.
